Designed to assist families in locating services and resources. After an initial consultation, I will research options and create a personalized list of services that meet your family’s needs.

You might be a good fit for this service if you’ve found yourself endlessly scrolling on your phone in the middle of the night trying to find answers and resources. Let Mama Hippos take on the research, make the endless phone calls, and brainstorm creative solutions.

With this service you will receive:

5-hour Intake Session
Researched list of services and resources
Assistance calling clinics and resource providers to gather information and make arrangements for your family
1 hour follow-up session to review a resource list and create a plan

Monthly Support

Assistance with ongoing resource location, research, brainstorming, encouragement and support for your journey.

This service is designed for mamas who need ongoing brainstorming, a listening ear*, help researching, and someone who just “gets it.” Mamas who have completed an initial Navigation session are eligible for ongoing monthly support.

With this service, each month, you receive:

30-minute monthly support session
Ongoing research for resources and services
Text and email support
Access to monthly peer support group

*Please note this service is peer support and not licensed counseling services. Mama Hippos can refer you to a licensed counselor if you are seeking counseling services.

Advocacy

Creative solutions to accommodations, helping families advocate for their loved ones’ needs.

Is there a local museum your family has been dreaming of visiting? Or, maybe there is a gymnastics class your child would love? Mama Hippos can help make these things possible for your family. If your family or child needs accommodations to take a class, visit a place in the community, or access resources, Mama Hippos will help arrange accommodations.

With this service, you receive:

1 hour intake session
Up to 3 hours working with the organization to implement accommodations
1 hour debrief session with family and organization

Peer Support Groups

Connection with other caregivers of special needs loved ones.

Did you know a group of hippos is called a bloat? Come join our bloat and find connections with other mothers and professionals who understand the journey of being a mother of a special needs child.

Monthly Virtual sessions, and occasional in-person connection opportunities
Variety of topics with educational components
Facilitated conversation

What does it cost?

The cost will depend on details and factors specific and unique to you! Mama Hippos is in process of contracting with the CLTS program. Scholarships and sliding scales may be available.
