Madelyn holds a Doctor of Education. Her research interests include parenting neurodivergent children and accessible online education for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities. After starting her career as a high school English teacher, Madelyn began teaching at the university level.

As you probably guessed, Madelyn loves hippos! She enjoys traveling to zoos while on vacation. Her goal is to visit every American zoo that has hippos! Her favorite hippo to visit is Fiona from the Cincinnati Zoo!
